PROGRAM
1st day
Athens - Barcelona
Meeting at the airport and flight to the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona. Arrival, transfer and settlement at the hotel. We start immediately for our first walking tour in the center of Barcelona. We will walk the Ramblas, the most famous pedestrian street in Spain. The Ramblas with the purchase of its flowers, with its outdoor artists and painters, with its inexhaustible vitality. Walking Raplas we will see the canal tap, drink water to return to Barcelona according to a local tradition. It is also the meeting point of the fans of the most successful team of the 21st century, Barcelona. Then we will visit the central food and fruit market La Boqueria. An amazing market where you can try the famous Spanish cold cuts, exotic fruits and eat fresh fish and tapas. The largest and oldest market in Spain is waiting for you to taste its wonderful products. Then we will see the famous lyric scene where the greatest tenors and sopranos of the world have appeared. We will finish our first tour of Piazza Real, which is a typical Spanish square with arches. Enjoy your coffee or your food in one of the many shops located around the picturesque square.
2nd day
Barcelona
Our tour starts from the central square of Barcelona, Plaza Catalunia. We will cross the famous Avenue Paseo de gracia with the most expensive shops in the city and the most beautiful houses from the era of modernism of famous architects, most famously Casa Batllo and Casa Mila of the great Antonio Gaudi. We will stop and take a closer look at his masterpiece, the famous Sagrada Familia church. We continue our tour passing through Porto Olympico, a port during the Olympic Games, the Olympic Village and Barceloneta, an old neighborhood of fishermen. We will cross the city and climb Montjuik Hill where the Olympic Stadium and all the facilities of the 1992 Olympics are located. Our next stop is the Spanish Village, built for the 1929 World's Fair. Our tour will end in the historic center of the city, the famous Gothic Quarter where most of the administrative buildings are located, the palace of the Catholic kings and the cathedral. For the evening, we suggest you watch Flamengo in his homeland and indulge in its intense and passionate rhythm!
3rd day
Barcelona - Girona - Figueres
Breakfast and we start for the birthplace of the great Catalan painter, Figueres! After a beautiful journey of almost 2 hours, crossing pine and poplar forests we reach the museum-theater of the eccentric painter Salvador Dali. The most visited museum in Catalonia and the third in all of Spain includes the largest collection of Dali works in the world. In a dream building we will admire paintings from the first years of his life until his death. Leaving the museum, also enjoy the permanent jewelry exhibition which consists of 37 unique jewelry designed by the talented painter! After a coffee in the historic center of Figueres departure for the city of Girona with its river Onar and the beautiful painted houses on the river that remind of Florence! We will admire the cathedral of Panagia with the largest Gothic aisle in the world! We will also walk in the Jewish suburb, one of the best preserved in Europe where the Sephardim lived, the Jews of Spain until 1492.
4th day
Barcelona
Breakfast at the hotel and day off. We suggest you visit the museum of the greatest painter of the twentieth century Pablo Picasso. In five beautiful medieval palaces enjoy paintings of the early phase of the famous painter. Nearby is the amazing new museum of Modern Art MOCO. In the afternoon we suggest an optional tour to see some more of the most important monuments of Barcelona. We are talking about San Pablo Hospital, the largest complex in the world, a hospital built from a fairytale UNESCO monument and the work of the great architect Luis Domenech and Mountaner, as well as in Guell Park, work of the famous architect Antonio Gaud., which is a monument of UNESCO World Heritage. Guell Park is the perfect example of harmony between nature and architecture. Then we will go to take a photo of the camp nou, the stadium of the famous Barcelona. Next stop in the old town and the alleys of El Bourne, where we will see the beautiful church of Santa Maria del Mar, which is a perfect example of Gothic architecture. In fact, her story has become a bestseller with the name Our Lady of the Sea.
5th day
Barcelona - Athens
Breakfast at the hotel and free time. Transfer to the airport and flight to Athens.
The 4-day program does not include the 4th day.
